Stromanthe Triostar
Stromanthe Triostar
The Triostar is a great choice if you want a plant that offers a subtle splash of colour. Whilst the foliage is mostly green, the underside of these leaves are a vibrant red in colour. This plant looks particularly eye catching when light passes through its almost translucent foliage.
Light: Indirect sunlight. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can scorch the leaves. These plants will appreciate a bright room, although can also tolerate moderately lit rooms as well.
Watering: Allow top soil to dry out before watering again to prevent over-saturation and root rot. Water less often during late autumn and winter months.
Soil: Well draining soil is essential to prevent root rot. If you want to create your own potting mix for your Calatheas it's two parts peat-free soil, one part perlite.
Temperature: Happy between temperatures of 18°c to 30°c, although can tolerate temperatures as low as 15°c.
Repotting: Repot every 12 to 18 months. Increase pot size by 2cm to encourage plant growth.
Plant Care Level: Intermediate
