The Dischidia Nummularia, also going by the nickname 'String of Nickels' is an elegant, easy going, trailing succulent, native to South East Asia. This dischidia will naturally trail, however you can train it to climb upwards or around things too.
Light: Your Dischidia will thrive in a bright room. It can tolerate some direct sunlight, but anything more than a few hours will start to damage its leaves.
Watering: Dischidia's are fairly drought-resistant, although do not cope well with being over-watered. Ensure water has fully drained after each watering.
Soil: Make sure the soil is well drained. As Dischidias prefer a cactus potting mix to a regular potting mix. This consists of 3 parts potting soil, 2 parts coarse sand and 1 part perlite.
Temperature: Keep your Dischidia between 18 and 26°c to allow them to thrive, although they can withstand temperatures as low as 13°c.
Repotting: Repot every 12 to 18 months, or when the plant becomes rootbound.
