Monstera Adansonii 'Monkey Mask'

Monstera Adansonii 'Monkey Mask'

Monsteras have been popular for decades, with their perforated leaves that make them instantly recognisable. Their more mature leaves develop their perforations as a way of allowing rain water to pass down to the base of the plant. The Monkey Mask Monstera leaves that are ever-so-slightly crinkled which gives them an interesting texture.

Light: Avoid placing in direct sunlight as it will scorch the leaves. A Monstera will enjoy a brightly lit room, although will not fuss too much if in a moderately lit room.

Watering: Around once a week, although this varies. Ensure the top soil has dried out before watering to prevent root rot.

Soil: Well-draining soil. Ideal potting mixture will be one part perlite/coarse potting sand, one part loam soil.

Temperature: A Monstera will thrive between 18 and 29°C, but can withstand as low as 15°C.

Repotting: Repot every 1-2 years and increase pot size by 2cm.
