Bromeliads are native to the South African rainforests and there are over 90 species. Ranging in all colours and sizes, they have proved popular due to their low maintenance.

The Neoregelia Van Durme is a variety of the popular Bromeliad genus. With long green waxy leaves, with white edging, the Neorgelia Van Durme boasts a beautiful eye-catching pink colouration in its centre. The brighter the spot - without being in direct sun, the more vibrant the colour of your bromeliad will be.

Light: Avoid placing in direct sunlight as it will scorch the leaves. A Bromeliad will enjoy a brightly lit room. They can tolerate a few hours of direct sun.

Watering: Around once every 2-3 weeks. Ensure the soil has dried out before watering to prevent root rot.

Soil: Well-draining soil. Ideal potting mixture will be one part perlite/coarse potting sand, one part loam soil.

Temperature: A Bromeliad will thrive between 18 and 29°C, but can withstand as low as 15°C.

Repotting: Repot every 1-2 years and increase pot size by 2cm.
