Philodendron Selloum

Philodendron Selloum

£25.00

Philodendrons cover a huge variety of species (nearly 500!). They are easy-going, provided you keep them out of direct sunlight and allow enough time between waterings in order to prevent root rot.

The Selloum is a self-heading variety of Philodendron, meaning it doesn't climb. Instead, it has large perforated leaves.

Light: Medium to bright indirect sunlight suits the Selloum best. They can also tolerate the more shady spots in your house too.

Watering: Water your Selloum once a week to ensure it grows healthily. Keep the soil moist but allow the top of the soil to dry out before re-watering. Imperial Greens tolerate some degree of drought better than having its roots too wet.

Soil:Well-draining potting soil is perfect. If you prefer to make your own potting mixture, it will be one part perlite/coarse potting sand, one part loam soil.

Temperature: They love between 18-28°C, but can tolerate short periods of 12°c at a push. Avoid cold draughts.

Repotting: The Imperial Green will need repotting every 2-3 years in order to encourage growth.
