Philodendrons cover a huge variety of species (nearly 500!). They are easy-going, provided you keep them out of direct sunlight and allow enough time between waterings in order to prevent root rot. The Tortum is a vining variety of Philodendron, meaning that over time it may require something to climb up. Its foliage resembles something you'd find in the tropics, rather than the type of leaves you would typically affiliate with Philodendrons.

Light: Medium to bright indirect sunlight will be best for this Philo. They can also tolerate the more shady spots in your house too.

Watering: Water roughly once a week to ensure it grows healthily. Keep the soil moist but allow the top of the soil to dry out before re-watering. Philodendrons tolerate some degree of drought better than having its roots too wet.

Soil:Well-draining potting soil is perfect. If you prefer to make your own potting mixture, it will be one part perlite/coarse potting sand, one part loam soil.

Temperature: They will thrive in most homes, in temperatures between 18-28°C. Avoid cold draughts.

Repotting: This Philo will need repotting every 1-2 years in order to encourage growth.
